In honor of Mamba Day on 8/24 in 2020, Nike released a new colorway of the Kobe V Protro with the Kobe V Protro Lakers. The Kobe Protro series focuses on taking early Nike Kobe designs and modifying them with upgraded technology and materials so that performance never ages out.
Reminiscent of the original Kobe 5 Lakers Away colorway, the Kobe V Protro Lakers pays homage to Kobe’s monumental career with the Lakers. It features a regal purple upper embedded with FlyWire, plus black overlays and Del Sol detailing. A white midsole, icy translucent outsole, and black Swoosh coordinate so perfectly that they are worthy of a #1 seed in the NBA Playoffs.
The Kobe V Protro Lakers released in August of 2020 and retailed for $180.
